Decarbonizing the Built Environment

Decarbonizing the Built Environment, is a new brief and online event from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). NBI Program Director, Amy Cortese was part of the conversation that informed this piece. She discussed the domestic environment for zero-carbon buildings in the U.S. and some case studies of successes. Debbie Wey, World Resources Institute and NBI Senior Fellow, also shared how opportunities and challenges to decarbonization differ around the world. Clay Nesler, Johnson Controls, gave an overview of the buildings sector, the sources of emissions, and provided the perspective of private-sector companies working to develop low- and zero-carbon solutions.
