The fifth annual Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) Week will occur from October 26-29, with virtual and in-person events taking place across the U.S. Hosted by New Buildings Institute, the convenor of the Advanced Water Heating Initiative (AWHI), this event will share the love for HPWHs and their many benefits, including meeting hot water demands, reducing long term costs, and saving energy. From coast to coast, novices and industry experts alike can join virtual sessions and in-person events on the latest developments in HPWH technology, learn about new technologies coming to market, and experience the impact of this simple but powerful appliance.
Event highlights include:
- Keynote address from award-winning author, educator, and environmentalist Bill McKibben
- Live demonstration of new split-system HPWHs in San Jose, California
- Guide to do-it-yourself HPWH installation for interested homeowners
- Manufacturers announcing new HPWH products coming to market this year
- Opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing
HPWH Week will culminate with the Excellence in Water Heating Awards, which recognizes innovative and impactful leaders across multiple categories that include commercial sector, residential sector, technology, and equity. In previous years, awardees have included businesses, programs, and individuals working to make HPWHs accessible to everyone.
“We’re really excited to celebrate another year of developments in the HPWH industry,” says Joe Wachunas, assistant director of building innovation at New Buildings Institute and manager of AWHI. “All the time, we’re seeing this incredible technology become more widely recognized and deployed. HPWH Week lets us share the love for what’s been done so far, but also for how far this industry can go.”
HPWH Week is made possible by generous supporters, including host sponsor Ariston. Find out more at AdvancedWaterHeatingInitiative.org.
