Effective Design Strategies for Optimal Energy Performance and Occupant Comfort and Health

With building occupants spending an average of 90% of their time indoors, indoor environmental quality is key to occupant comfort and health and provides a unique opportunity to focus on advancing energy efficiency. This one-hour webinar presents best practices to improving energy efficiency with the ultimate goal of zero energy.

The focus of this webinar was on the most important considerations for the successful implementation of high performance strategies as well as the “state of the art” and “off-the-shelf” technologies available today for achieving optimal energy performance. Finally, the session covered the importance of the non-energy benefits of high performance buildings, and the opportunity to use energy efficiency to improve non-energy metrics like productivity, health and occupant well-being.

This webinar was offered as part of the RePowerPVD program. The City of Providence’s voluntary energy challenge program, designed to help large buildings in the city conserve energy, save money, and gain recognition for their leadership and contributions to Mayor Elorza’s goal to make Providence, Rhode Island carbon neutral by 2050. Another webinar, Portfolio Energy Benchmarking and Prioritization – Step by Step, also took place on November 5, 2018.
