Amie Lewis is a senior project manager working on codes and policy at New Buildings Institute. She has 15+ years of experience as a green building and sustainable business consultant, and specializes in mandatory green building code development, compliance, and enforcement. Amie weaves together environmental building standards development and implementation with systems thinking, behavioral science, and data analysis. She believes mandatory codes, standards, and policies are crucial to any successful climate action plan, from the local to the global scale.

Amie holds an MBA in sustainable business from San Francisco State, and a BA in environmental studies from Barnard College, Columbia University. She has been a LEED Accredited Professional BD+C since 2006 and is a qualified commissioning agent. Before joining NBI, Amie specialized in independent review, inspection, and verification of mandatory green building code compliance.
