California Getting to Zero Watchlists
Document / August 29, 2019 / Getting to Zero
NBI uses its extensive buildings data set to develop specialized Buildings Lists focused on a particular region or building type to help increase public awareness, market acceptance, and adoption of zero energy projects. California leads in zero energy buildings and these Watchlists document the growth and market trends of zero energy commercial and multifamily buildings in the state.
California leads the country in the number of building projects that have achieved ZNE performance (ZNE Certified and Verified) or that are striving for that goal (ZNE Emerging). As of June 2019, California has 276 commercial, institutional, and multifamily ZNE projects known to New Buildings Institute.
