California has set ambitious goals for zero net energy (ZNE) buildings and is leading the nation in the number of ZNE projects including deep energy retrofits. The California Public Utilities Commission in partnership with the City of San Jose and New Buildings Institute invite you to a free workshop focused on ZNE for existing buildings. This day-long, interactive session will help attendees build knowledge on ZNE design and operation strategies, effective policies and codes as well as planning approaches and other resources to support advancement of zero energy buildings. Lunch provided. An optional tour of the San Jose Energy Innovation Center will also be offered after the workshop, additional registration is required.
Who should attend? Architects, city planners, utilities, developers, building owners and others interested in zero net energy.
Purpose of the workshop. This six-hour workshop will support work to integrate state goals to achieve zero net energy buildings (ZNE). Learn planning and design strategies for ZNE retrofits, and hear about case studies on ZNE buildings, new programs and tools to support ZNE policy and plan development, as well as new research and emerging trends.
