Unpacking the 2024 IECC Commercial Public Comment Draft

The commercial section of the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) has been released for public comment. Join NBI experts for a webinar that will summarize the major changes proposed, the process for submitting public comment, and ways that stakeholders can influence this critical code cycle for addressing climate change. After presentations on the draft code proposals, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss.

The 2024 commercial IECC draft was developed over months of Committee and Subcommittee hearings and a balloting process that required a two-thirds approval vote ahead of the public release. Governments, businesses, NGOs, and individuals will have until Oct. 21 to provide comment on the code language that jurisdictions will depend on for the next four years to make good on their climate commitments. For more information on what’s in the commercial draft, watch the webinar and read our blog. More information about how to comment can be found on our website. Here you can find the Public Comment Draft #1 of the IECC Commercial Provisions. If you plan to comment, please fill out this form by Friday, October 7, 2022. If you have any questions, send us an email.
