Michelle has over twenty five years of electric utility/energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM) expertise, with extensive experience in the areas of new construction zero net energy and demand side management, state and federal building efficiency codes and appliance standards, energy efficiency regulatory policy and compliance oversight; strategic planning, portfolio development and program implementation.

Currently, Michelle is the senior manager over the Energy Codes and Standards program where she and her team work with other California utilities, the California Energy Commission, Department of Energy, and other stakeholders to advocate for advancing cost effective efficiency standards in buildings and appliances. Southern California Edison’s Codes and Standards team is developing strategies that will help increase the uptake of zero net energy practices in new buildings, and developing approaches for reducing greenhouse gases caused by buildings.
