John Wilson works with the Energy Foundation as Program Director of the Buildings Program. Prior to this, John was an Economist and Commissioner Advisor at the California Energy Commission from 1977 to 2008. His activities emphasized developing new appliance efficiency standards, oversight of the Commission’s $80 million per year Public Interest Energy Research program, and developing long-term scenarios for California’s energy system. He was a founding board member of the New Buildings Institute. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
