Mary joined New Buildings Institute in April 2018 and as controller she is responsible for managing and tracking all financial aspects of NBI’s business operations. Mary was a Certified Public Accountant for 18 years in Arizona, with experience in internal auditing, financial accounting, business process improvement, and computer system management. More recently, she served for ten years as Sustainability Leader for a civil engineering firm, where she developed and implemented a strategic plan to embed sustainable thinking and practices in both the firm’s professional services and internal operations. She holds a Master of Science in Biomimicry, and is a firm advocate for learning not only about nature, but from nature to create human designs that “create conditions conducive to live”.
