Kevin Carbonnier

Associate Technical Director

Kevin Carbonnier leads technical research and data analysis at New Buildings Institute. He specializes in building energy analysis, zero energy market tracking, emerging technologies, building-grid interactivity, and lifecycle carbon accounting.

Kevin is critical to NBI’s efforts to get research to people who can use it. He presents research findings to clients and the broader industry via research reports, interactive dashboards, webinars, and conference presentations. He also provides quality control for data and analytics used in NBI’s public-facing materials, from blogs to complex technical reports and client deliverables.

His experience includes commercial HVAC, building controls and optimization, energy-efficient building design, energy simulations, renewable energy systems, and energy management. Kevin holds a Ph.D. in architectural engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
