Sensitivity Analysis: Relative Impact Of Design, Commissioning, Maintenance And Operational Variables On The Energy Performance Of Office Buildings
Paper / September 5, 2012
This paper provides a look at the NBI study that compares the magnitude of energy impact that various design features, operations and tenant behaviors have on total building energy use. The perception in the market is that the responsibility for building energy performance is in the hands of architects and engineers. In fact, a significant percentage of building energy use is driven directly by operational and occupant habits, and in many cases can have a larger impact on total energy use than many common variations in the design of the building itself. Presented at the 2012 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings.
