Energy Department Invests to Save Small Buildings Money by Saving Energy

Following the recent release of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan, the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) announced an investment that will reduce energy use while helping U.S. businesses reduce costs. A $10 million investment by USDOE is funding six projects to reduce carbon pollution and energy bills in small commercial buildings by increasing energy efficiency. NBI is partnering with one of the award recipients, Ecology Action of Santa Cruz, Inc., on a project to use low-cost, high-impact tools to analyze and implement deep energy retrofits and financing options that are appropriate to small buildings. Small commercial buildings consume about 20% of all U.S. energy and have tremendous potential to save energy and improve their bottom lines. Learn more
