Together we can redefine what’s possible in the built environment

Learn about: Individual Support | Corporate Support Options

The building sector is responsible for roughly 40% of energy used in the United States and more than one-third of the carbon emissions.

We remain committed to the same goal since our founding in 1997: accelerate adoption of best practices in energy performance for the built environment. Almost all of the resources we provide as a thinktank nonprofit – research, reports, webinars and more – are available for free to help move the building sector toward full decarbonization. Your donation to support our work can help us continue to keep sharing these vital resources at no cost.

Your contribution to NBI’s work funds work across our programs to:

  • ensure our national, state and local building codes move buildings into a climate-positive future
  • drive innovation and adoption of technology for carbon neutral buildings
  • educate architects, engineers, builders, owners, and others in the buildings sector how to deliver zero energy / carbon neutral buildings

Unable to provide financial support at this time? The next best thing you can do is help to spread the word about our latest work! Be sure to follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram and share our latest updates with your network.
