Hot Dry Climate Air Conditioner (HDAC) Combined Field Test Report

This field test consisted of site and AC selection, installation and replacement, performance monitoring, and data analysis. Standard baseline SEER 13 air conditioners were first monitored and then replaced with HDACs. Monitoring of the baseline and HDAC units were completed during the summer of 2006. The PIER program commissioned a project to promote air conditioners specifically selected to perform well at hot dry conditions. Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, and Nevada Power commissioned this field test.
